Asyraf Lee, or formally known as Ahmad Asyraf Shazaf was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 1988. Asyraf is the son of two teachers, both once worked in an ivy league school in Kuala Lumpur before. Being born in a traditionalist family of educators, the top priority by his parents were his education throughout his childhood. Asyraf attended Setapak Technical School for the foundation of Electronics Engineering thanks to his passion for anything that comes with a battery.

Not long before his graduation, Asyraf discovered photography through some random internet browsing which he also discovered many names in photography that he still worships such as Platon, Richard Avedon, David Lachapelle, Annie Leibovitz and Easton Chang. A few months after his discovery and slight involvement with a few online photography forum, a local portraists invited Asyraf on a photo shoot to show what are the process involved in a photo shoot. The same local portraists hired Asyraf not long after the photo shoot mentioned after discovering that Asyraf has a huge passion on photography, especially portraits. Asyraf then decided that photography was something bigger to him than engineering.

Currently, Asyraf is based out in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia though he frequently travels out for both work and personal reasons. Aged 20 this year, Asyraf is probably the youngest professional photographer in Malaysia who specialises in portraiture.
